How to Hand a Door
Door handing is typically determined by examining the exterior of the doorway; however keep in mind that door handing and swing terminology may vary slightly depending on the supplier or region. The following diagrams illustrate how to properly hand single and double doors.
For example, if you are standing next to the door—facing away from it with the hinge on your right side and the door opens inward, it is left handed. If the door opens outward from this same position it is left hand reverse.
